Go online to vote.gov to start the voter registration process. This is the official voting website of the US Government.
Step 2: Select your state of residence
Step 3: Click on the link to start online registration
You can choose the option below online registration if you’d like to register to vote by mail or in person, but online is the easiest way. Take note of the the voter registration deadlines highlighted in the blue box.

- Note that online registration isn’t available on the vote.gov website for all states. If it isn’t, the vote.gov site will still redirect you to the voting registration process for that state.
- Once you click on the state you’re registering to vote, the website will tell you the different voter registration deadlines.
- Be aware of the requirements to register to vote including being at least 18 years old on or before Election Day, being a citizen of the United States and proof of residency in your state.
